Following the launch of a new range of options to travel by rail to the French and Swiss Alps families can now take advantage of Esprit Holidays’ family active holidays with prices from just £277pp in July 2011 for a 7 night fully catered holiday by train.

For summer 2011 the company has introduced train travel from London to Chambery (for holidays in Belle Plagne), Grenoble (for Alpe d’Huez) and Lausanne (for Saas Fee). Rail costs start from £428 for a family of four to travel return to Grenoble and £508 to Chambery.

Esprit’s holiday prices are from £170pp for a week’s fully catered holiday in the French Alpine resort of Alpe d’Huez, based on a family of four sharing at the Chalet Hotel Mariandre, arriving on 2nd July, including breakfast, packed lunch, five course evening meals (6 nights) with wine and soft drinks, and free ice lollies and soft drinks for kids.

Ian Hope from Esprit Holidays said “Letting the train take the strain out of a family holiday means that everyone can arrive relaxed and in good shape. The journey through France is scenic and relaxing, families can start their holiday the moment they step on board and the end result is a family holiday where the train journey is part of the overall experience”.

Esprit Holidays’ summer Alpine adventures offer a week’s stay in the French or Swiss Alps in a chalet style hotel, including breakfast, packed lunch and five course evening meals (6 nights) with wine, plus a choice of optional organised daily activities from £135 / adult (five days), £113 / child, when booked in advance, including zip-wiring, rafting, walking, mountain biking, hiking, glacier safaris and tennis.
