Cycling holidays outside the Eurozone

The Euro has certainly made travelling easier but for those that want to make their pound stretch even further, how about a break outside the Eurozone?  European adventure holiday specialist UTracks suggests the following new trips:

NEW FOR 2011 Croatia: Dubrovnik and The Dalmatian Coast 8 days
Launches: 8 May
With its impressive old town and dominating position on the Adriatic coast, the city is visually stunning and deserving of its UNESCO World Heritage status. The trip begins in Dubrovnik, exploring the narrow streets and lively town. Extending westerly into the Mediterranean, the southern Dalmatia islands are best explored by bike where quiet roads lead to magnificent views. Visit Hvar, Korcula and Mjet to name a few and discover unique features such as wine making traditions, medieval towns and the historic island of Vis occupied by the Greeks more than 2,000 years ago.

NEW FOR 2011 Balkan Mountains Cycle 8 days
Launches: 3 July
The Balkan Mountains are famous for lush green valleys, sheer cliffs and gentle rolling hills with sheep grazing peacefully in their pastures. Passing through the Central Balkan National Park, the narrow roads meander through valleys, forests and villages that haven’t changed for centuries. Along the route visitors will see several of the country's most significant Orthodox monasteries and churches with colourful murals which are scattered throughout the region. The final cycling stage ends in Veliko Tarnovo - one of the most charming Balkan towns and the former Bulgarian capital.

NEW FOR 2011 Bernese Oberland 7 days
Launches: 3 July
A stunning walk capturing the essence of Switzerland: emerald alpine lakes, soaring snow-capped peaks, flower laden meadows and quaint wooden farmhouses. The Bernese Oberland is a region dominated by high peaks, many over 4,000m. Following a section of the Alpine Pass Route that crosses the country, the walk traverses from Lenk, known for its stunning variety of wildflowers across high passes to the famous ski resort, Grindelwald and Meiringen, lower down on the Aare River. From a variety of vantage points be rewarded with impressive views of vast glaciers, some of the highest peaks in Switzerland.

NEW FOR 2011 Sweden: Land of Lakes and Castles 6 days
Launches: 19 May
In central Sweden’s heartland lies Stockholm, the nation’s capital city spread across 14 islands, each providing a different perspective of the city. Exploring this region by bike ensures a full immersion in the subtle landscapes of its archipelago and beyond. With a relaxed pace, there is ample time to swim in the refreshing Baltic waters, hike trails in manor house grounds and visit towns of pretty wooden houses.
