House hunters in the west coast town of Inverkip could save time and money when they buy a brand new Redrow home Sylvan Brae.

The award-winning housebuilder has calculated that it could cost up to £30,000 to bring an older three-bedroom property up to the same high standard of one of its new homes. And with a choice of three-bedroom and four-bedroom homes available from £183,000, Sylvan Brae is the ideal choice for those who want to ditch the DIY.
The development includes designs from Redrow’s New Heritage Collection of traditional looking homes with modern interiors styled for 21st century living.

Mary McHutchison, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Scotland), commented: “At Redrow we pride ourselves in building quality homes that people really want to live in and the properties at Sylvan Brae are no exception. Easy to maintain and efficient to run, they’re ideal for people who are tired of wasting their time and money on costly repairs and renovations that an older property may need.

“The message is simple: why buy an older property and then invest time, money and energy in renovating it, when you could buy a brand new home with the latest statement making kitchens and sleek modern bathrooms?”

Kitchens at Sylvan Brae enjoy the convenience of integrated top brand name appliances, plus tall units and extra wide drawers that offer plenty of storage; while bathrooms and en-suites boast quality fixtures and fittings.

“The cost of installing one of our fabulous kitchens including the same high quality fixtures, fittings and appliances in an older property would be around £6,000, plus you would have the inconvenience of not being able to use your kitchen while the work is carried out,” Mary explained.

Well insulated with double glazing and central heating as standard, homes at Sylvan Brae are potentially cheaper to run than their older second hand counterparts. It means that homeowners could save money on their utility bills.

What’s more, buyers won’t have to worry about inheriting the previous owner’s decor but will enjoy peace of mind in the knowledge that their new home is covered by a 10-year ‘Buildmark’ warranty

Selected properties at Sylvan Brae are almost ‘build complete’ and simply waiting for the finishing touches that help turn a house into a home.
