Enhanced wedding celebrations at Lakeside Hotel
Lakeside Hotel & Spa is one of the finest four star hotels on Lake Windermere, situated on the water’s edge with breathtaking views of the lake and the fells beyond.
From June this year brides looking for a romantic waterside location for their wedding now have the option to set their celebrations in the hotel’s new Windermere Suite,
which is located adjacent to the hotel in a secluded private area.
Designed for wedding parties of up to 80 people, guests can enjoy a private reception with a modern interior that has been designed using local materials and maximises the use of natural light as well as offering different lighting effects at the touch of a button. There is a paved and landscaped outdoor terrace at the back of the suite, allowing guests to soak up the views and cool down from all the reeling and dancing.
Lakeside Hotel has 75 individually decorated bedrooms, making it an ideal size to accommodate the bridal party and guests, but with all the personalised touches one would expect from an independently run hotel. It was extensively refurbished last year, but still retains the warm, welcoming atmosphere of its 17th century coaching inn origins, with oak panelled lounges and crackling log fires.
The mature gardens which lead down from the hotel to the southern shore of Lake Windermere provide a panoramic background for the wedding photographs with the option of an afternoon or evening boat cruise for the wedding party and guests.
For more intimate wedding celebrations, weddings are licenced to take place in the hotel’s traditional 17th century oak panelled ‘Oak Room’, which can take up to 24 guests.

A wedding at Lakeside costs from £4000 based on 40 people and includes a 3 course wedding breakfast, Champagne, wine and flowers. Room hire is an additional £850 with a £500 supplement on Saturdays and Sundays.
