Dunbar RNLI helps Taylor Wimpey to ‘launch’ new showhomes
Dunbar RNLI came to the assistance of Taylor Wimpey in a unique way to help the Company mark the launch of their trio of stunning new showhomes.
Normally accustomed to launching the lifeboat to assist stricken sailors, RNLI's local coxswain Gary Fairbairn brought the D-class inshore lifeboat along to a fundraising event last Saturday to mark the official opening of the showhomes at the development.
As well as a chance to visit the D-class inshore lifeboat, visitors enjoyed a 'brew for the crew' – a delicious cup of tea and cake; the chance to pick up some RNLI souvenirs and
there was plenty of family fun with the appearance of RNLI's fun character Stormy Sam, children's activities including facepainting and balloon modelling, as well as the opportunity to visit Taylor Wimpey's three gorgeous showhomes.

Fairbairn Way will forever be part of the town and is a fitting tribute both to Gary and members of his family who've made such a contribution to Dunbar.”
RNLI's local coxswain Gary Fairbairn: “Having a street named in our family's honour is really the last thing I expected, but it's a lasting legacy and a great honour to be recognised in this way following my family's support of the RNLI over the years, and indeed generations.”
