Homebuyer Ann Oberdries is urging Shropshire property-seekers to reap the benefits of an early move to Taylor Wimpey’s Thomas Beddoes Court development of houses for sale in Shifnal.

Downsizing to a new property following the loss of her husband would have been a difficult move for Ann Oberdries – but with Taylor Wimpey’s help she’s able to look forward to life in a brand new home at the Thomas Beddoes Court development of property for sale in Shifnal.

Ann and husband Herb had lived in a four-bedroom detached property in Shifnal until he passed away two years ago. Wishing to stay close to friends and neighbours, Ann continued to live in the house they had shared, but was beginning to find it was too big for just herself and pet dog, Cassie.

“Shifnal is a very nice place to live, and so when I saw that Taylor Wimpey was going to build some new homes nearby, I immediately thought that one of them might be right for me,” explains Ann, reflecting on the day she discovered the Thomas Beddoes Court development of Shifnal property.

“When the board went up advertising that the Thomas Beddoes Court development was coming soon, I registered my details so that I’d be one of the first to find out more about these new houses in Shifnal.

“Taylor Wimpey contacted me and invited me to come along and take a look at the designs for the new homes and the position of the plots and, being very impressed by what I saw, I chose a three-bedroom detached ‘Brooke’.”

Having purchased her new property off-plan, Ann is looking forward to moving to Thomas Beddoes Court this summer.

And before she does, she’ll be choosing £3,000 worth of free finishing touches from Taylor Wimpey’s Options range, which the leading housebuilder has gifted to Ann as part of her purchase. The range includes upgraded kitchen units and worktops, carpets, flooring, lighting, tiles and chrome fittings.

“I’m really looking forward to moving in,” adds Ann (64), who helped her husband run their road signs company, based in Telford. “Carol and Ryan in the Thomas Beddoes Court sales centre have been absolutely marvellous. It’s the first time I’ve done anything like this on my own, and they have made buying a new home easy for me.”

Ann was attracted to the three-bedroom ‘Brooke’ home for its well-planned layout and south-facing aspect. One of the bedrooms will be for her eight-year-old granddaughter, Cerys, who often comes to stay overnight at weekends.

Sixteen properties have sold off-plan since Thomas Beddoes Court launched in November last year, with the development’s beautiful showhome due to open to visitors at the end of May.

In addition to the superb location of the new homes, which are fringed by stunning Shropshire countryside, purchasers have been attracted to Thomas Beddoes Court by the excellent range of time and money-saving incentives Taylor Wimpey offers to its customers.

These include help with deposits and legal fees for first-time purchasers, and, for those with a property to sell, assistance with finding a buyer. Incentives can be tailored to customers’ individual circumstances and are subject to availability, with further information available from the Sales Executive.

Currently, purchasers can choose from a selection of four-bedroom detached houses at Thomas Beddoes Court, which start from just £259,995.

The ‘Cambridge’, for example is a magnificent detached property with an impressive L-shaped layout comprising a large lounge, a dining room, a spacious kitchen/breakfast room and a guest cloakroom off the entrance hallway.

Both the lounge and the kitchen benefit from attractive French doors opening to the private rear garden, while outside there is a double garage.

Upstairs, the ‘Cambridge’ features four double bedrooms including an en-suite shower room to the master bedroom, plus a main bathroom.

While each home comes with a contemporary fitted kitchen complete with integrated oven, hob and hood, those choosing their new house now can select upgrades and additional finishing touches from the housebuilder’s Options range.

Located, on the southern edge of Shifnal, the homes will be within walking distance of the centre of this attractive and historic market town, which boasts a host of everyday amenities including a vibrant shopping centre, a well-equipped sports complex, plus a great selection of pubs and restaurants.

Parents will appreciate that a choice of pre-school nurseries and day centres is also located close by, along with two primary schools and a secondary school.

To the south of the new development lies mile upon mile of Shropshire’s famous rolling countryside and yet the bustling metropolitan centres of Telford and Wolverhampton are each just a short distance away for a huge choice of shopping, leisure and entertainment opportunities.

For commuters, the M54 is within two miles of home, providing easy access to the M6 for Birmingham and the Black Country, while Shifnal also benefits from a railway station on the Shrewsbury to Wolverhampton line.

Thomas Beddoes Court Sales Centre is located off Park Street, Shifnal, TF11 9HA, and is open Thursday through to Monday from 11am to 5pm.
