Quentin Willson & Shell help Britain cut motoring costs

Shell has teamed up with renowned motoring journalist and fuel saving expert, Quentin Willson, on a mission to teach the nation how to save fuel with Shell FuelSave fuels and top driving tips. The first of a series of roadshows kicks off on 21st May at Bluewater, Kent, before also stopping off at Manchester and Birmingham, where Quentin will share his wisdom with local drivers on how they can save fuel and money.

Locals will enjoy a weekend full of entertainment, games for the children and the opportunity to learn first-hand how to save on their fuel costs in a fun and interactive way from the renowned Quentin Willson and Shell FuelSave experts.

In addition to helping local residents cut their motoring costs, Quentin is on the hunt to find four everyday drivers who are in desperate need of his fuel saving expertise. Drivers will be selected to join Quentin for a special masterclass in the art of fuel efficiency and be part of the first ever Shell FuelSave Team. The winning four will receive a year’s supply of free fuel worth £3,650 and extensive training from a team of Shell scientists and fuel economy experts to help turn them and their local community into a team of top fuel savers.

The Shell FuelSave Team will also be issuing a call to action to drivers across Britain to make history on Saturday 15th October. On this day at 10:00am, motorists from the UK and worldwide can represent their nation by setting the first ever Guinness World Record for the ‘Largest Fuel Efficiency Masterclass’.

So, do you drive hundreds of miles for work, or spend hours on the road driving the kids to football practice or dance class? Or do you simply want help in order to reduce your monthly fuel bill? Well, you could be just what Shell is looking for!

The activity follows last year’s launch of Shell FuelSave Unleaded and Diesel, two fuels which have been specially designed to help drivers save up to 1 litre per tank at no extra cost. The Shell FuelSave Roadshows are the latest part of an ongoing Shell campaign to promote fuel efficiency.

Quentin Willson comments, “I want to help British drivers cut their monthly fuel bills. My hints and tips will be simple, money-saving and as easy as changing gear. Everybody thinks saving fuel is hard but by using Shell FuelSave and making some small changes to your driving habits, I'll show that fuel-sipping really is easy.”
