OBSR upgrade Distribution Fund to ‘AA'

12th May 2011 Print

Leading fund rating agency Old Broad Street Research (OBSR) has upgraded the Thames River Distribution Fund to an ‘AA' rating following a recent review.

The fund, managed by Rob Burdett and Gary Potter, co-heads of the Thames River Multi Capital Team, was originally granted an A rating by OBSR in January 2008, only three months after it was launched (October 2007).

The Thames River Distribution Fund is one of the most diversified multi-manager funds, aiming to produce consistent income distributions and long-term capital preservation through bottom-up investing. The fund provides a diversified income stream by investing across a range of asset classes, geographies, sectors and companies.

It has continued to yield in excess of 5.5%, one of the highest amongst the multi-manager funds in the popular IMA Cautious Managed sector, and has consistently outperformed the IMA Cautious Managed sector since launch.

OBSR stated they had been monitoring the fund closely since launch and upgraded their rating based on "the diligence with which it is managed by Gary Potter and Rob Burdett, and the solid track record it has established."
