Taylor Wimpey invests in Watford community

Taylor Wimpey North Thames is supporting a local school on behalf of its Leggatts Green development of property for sale in Watford.
Pupils at Orchard Primary School in Watford will soon be able to enjoy stories in the sunshine thanks to Taylor Wimpey, the leading housebuilder behind the Leggatts Green development of new homes in Watford.
The developer has donated £500 towards the creation of an outdoor story area at the school, which is close to the new collection of apartments and houses for sale in Watford.
The money will be spent on a large wooden storyteller’s chair, logs and tree stumps for the children to sit on and wood chippings for the area, which is set within the school’s grounds in Gammons Lane.
Cheryl Blake, Orchard Primary PTA member, says: “As a school, outdoor learning is something we want to encourage.
“With parents working longer hours and fears about safety, children don’t always have the chance to play outside as much as they did a few years ago.
“Playing indoors at home is much more common now, so by providing outdoor learning areas at school, we hope to redress the balance a little.
“Taylor Wimpey’s generous donation means more children can spend a larger amount of their time outside, which has to be a good thing.”
Tony Woodman, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “When we heard about this exciting project we were only too happy to help, especially since Leggatts Green is in the Orchard Primary School catchment area.
“The area will give the pupils a wonderful new environment in which to have their story time – I bet they can’t wait!”
Leggatts Green offers a wide choice of homes, including one-bedroom apartments from just £147,500, two-bedroom apartments from only £174,950, and magnificent four-bedrooom houses starting at just £299,950.
Further information on the development is available by visiting Leggatts Green, located off North Western Avenue, Watford, and open Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 5.30pm and Monday 10am to 2pm.
