Junction drives motor success for Bradford & Bingley brand
One year on since its acquisition of Bradford & Bingley's motor and home insurance business, Junction today reported significant sales growth for both products.
Home insurance has grown by 200 per cent, while sales of motor insurance, previously a very small area of business, have rocketed by 1,000 per cent.
The results have been driven by a combination of product and pricing improvements, and changes to the customer journey.
The sales uplift will help drive similar growth for other Junction partners, according to Managing Director, Peter Thompson: "The improvements made to both product and sales journeys can be shared across all our partners. We're anticipating further growth across the whole business as a result of the learnings from our work with the Bradford & Bingley brand."
Product changes include the introduction of a ‘bundled' motor insurance product which includes legal protection as standard, as well as Personal Accident Cover, which is free for the first six months. For home insurance customers, Home Emergency Assistance is now included as standard on Bradford & Bingley policies.
The greatest driver of sales for motor, however, has been a series of improvements to the online customer journey for Bradford & Bingley motor insurance.
Peter Thompson continued: "Most customers today are doing their insurance research online. Whether they reach our products offered under the Bradford & Bingley brand via a price comparison website or come to us direct, to successfully gain the business the process needs to be fast, simple and the benefits completely clear. We're extremely proud of the developments for the motor buying process. In addition to providing total clarity around product benefits and pricing, we now enable ‘online servicing' so that all customers can access documents and make amendments via the site. At the end of their 12 month policy we even send customers a renewal reminder via a text message."
Junction acquired Bradford & Bingley's motor and home insurance business in 2010 under a ten year brand licence, in response to Bradford & Bingley moving to public ownership and its requirement to focus on mortgage administration.
