Developer Oakmayne Bespoke has won the award for Best Luxury House at the 2011 Evening Standard New Homes Awards for No.11, Silk House, at Cornwall Terrace.

Despite a number of prime developments currently available in London, Oakmayne Bespoke has achieved unprecedented success since the launch of Cornwall Terrace in June 2010 and now boasts three award wins in the last six months.

Beth Dean, Sales and Marketing Director commented: “We are delighted to have won the award for Best Luxury House at the Evening Standard Awards. From the outset our vision for Cornwall Terrace was to redefine the development of super-prime property, exceed expectation and deliver an exceptional product. Winning this award is a token for our hard work and dedication to creating these amazing properties.”

The London Evening Standard New Homes Awards, in their 20th year, celebrate the highest standards of skill, design and craftsmanship in today’s new homes and reflect the diversity of the property market in London and the South East. The awards were presented at The Dorchester Hotel in London on 13th May 2011.

No.11 Silk House at Cornwall Terrace measures 8,833 sq ft and provides the highest quality and luxury development you can find anywhere across London, the fine attention to detail marketing it as a property like no other.

The house offers lateral living space across it’s outstandingly spacious four floor lay-out, which comprises a suite of six reception/entertaining rooms and five principal bedroom suites, complete with staffing quarters, a private gymnasium and health spa.

For the interior design and dressing for Silk House, Oakmayne Bespoke chose RIBA award-winning designer Darren Gayer of The Sheldon Studio.

Gayer has created a design which emphasises the importance of Cornwall Terrace’s history, through classical forms and pieces of furniture, yet has contemporary textures and colours. Much of the house’s colour palette is a sophisticated blend of silver, gold, grey and purple, providing a rich contrast with the classical style doors, architraves and pediments which are in the Regency style, chosen in conjunction with The Crown Estate for their quality and historical accuracy.

Darren Gayer of The Sheldon Studio commented: “It is fantastic to have won the award for Best Luxury Home. We are very appreciative to the Judges and Evening Standard readers for recognising the level of care, time and attention to detail that has gone into this project. We are delighted and proud to be charged with the creation of one of London’s leading developments.”

Standing as an outstanding example of a modern luxury house, that combines history and cutting edge technology, the house has been created by leading London developer Oakmayne Bespoke and is one of an exclusive collection of just eight Ambassadorial residences at Cornwall Terrace which sits behind a Grade I listed façade. The development dates back to 1811 when the houses were originally commissioned by The Prince Regent and designed by world renowned architects John Nash and Decimus Burton.

Silk House is named after notable resident James Silk Buckingham (1786-1855) the entrepreneur and traveller who settled initially in India, founding the Calcutta Journal, before returning to England and serving as MP for Sheffield and was a prolific writer of travel books on his travels around the world.

By working closely with the Crown Estate, Oakmayne Bespoke has strived to retain the original Regency features and provide an exclusive and spacious collection of outstanding residences which combine contemporary elegant interiors and unique heritage.

There are currently three houses available for sale at Cornwall Terrace. Prices for the residences start from £29 million. Full details are available from the agents Knight Frank, Savills and Beauchamp Estates, or visit: cornwallterrace.co.uk
