Redrow has acquired three new sites with a projected finished value of more than £40 million, which will provide almost 200 new homes in Cheshire and North Wales.

The sites in Widnes and Winsford, Cheshire, and Northop, in Flintshire, will contribute to the spread of Redrow’s critically acclaimed New Heritage Collection, now being built at 45 different locations across the UK.

Will Heath, managing director for Redrow Homes (NW), commented: “Launched a little over a year ago, the New Heritage Collection marked a return for Redrow to traditional values and high quality family homes. With Arts & Crafts influenced exteriors and bright, modern interiors, the homes have already proved popular locally in the Cheshire town of Hartford, Buckley and Wrexham in North Wales and Bromborough, Wirral.

“The success of New Heritage has contributed to an uplift in Redrow’s average selling prices and by June the new product range should feature on 70% of our developments UK-wide.”

The three latest places set to feature New Heritage Collection homes include the village of Northop, between Mold and Flint. Redrow has planning permission to build 36 two, three and four-bedroom homes on just under four acres on the edge of Northop. Work is underway, with the first homes due to go on sale in the summer. A village green forms part of the Northop venture, where finished homes will have a combined value of approximately £9.6 million.

In Widnes, Cheshire, planning permission has been granted to build 126 three and four-bedroom family homes on 8.5 acres of former agricultural land in Barrows Green Lane. Off-site highway improvements and a £175,000 contribution towards a ‘green link’ cycle way and footpath, plus off-site public open space form part of the Widnes plans. Homes will have a finished value of circa £28million.

Redrow also hopes to start constructing 27 two, three and four-bedroom homes in St John’s Drive, Winsford this summer. With an anticipated finished worth of £3.7 million, these properties will transform a two acre site which is currently wasteland and Redrow’s proposal includes work to upgrade a nearby wildlife corridor.
