An idyllic setting, overlooking fields, is in store for buyers seeking their first home at Oak Park in Newent.

The popular Barratt development is offering buyers the chance to own a three bedroom home as part of a special shared equity scheme, called Head Start.

“Oak Park is a hugely popular development because of its delightful location within one of the region’s most attractive towns. And now our home-of-the-week – the Maidstone design – is well within the reach of first time buyers, thanks to Head Start.”

Head Start is a shared equity scheme that allows buyers to move into a new home for just 85 per cent of the asking price.

The remaining 15 per cent is funded through a deferred Barratt loan. And buyers don’t have to pay this until the home is sold again or in ten years – whichever is sooner.

Priced from £162,995 – or just £138,600 under Head Start – the Maidstone is a spacious three bedroom house, featuring a well-proportioned lounge. There is an attractive, fully-fitted modern kitchen with a dining area and french doors to the rear garden. And a spacious entrance hall leads to a useful downstairs cloakroom.

Upstairs there are three good-sized bedrooms with an en suite to the master. A family bathroom serves the remaining bedrooms.

“This is the perfect time to make a move into the property market here at Oak Park,” said Andrea. “We understand how difficult it can be for first time buyers to put those initial finances in place.

“And that’s why we looking forward to welcoming visitors to this wonderful development and doing all we can to make the process as easy and straight-forward as possible.”

Set within the north west corner of Gloucestershire, Newent is a thriving, unspoilt market town offering a wide range of attractions and local amenities. Commuters will find the M5 just a short distance away – with easy access to Gloucester. And the nearest train station, in Ledbury, is just eight miles away.
