Keep your cool on a cycle holiday in Catalonia

To keep your cool on a cycling holiday in Catalonia, Cycle Catalan recommends you head for the hills, or more precisely the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains.

Their new self guided cycle tour, The Mountains, Countryside and Sea tour, departs from the mountain town of Ripoli. It crosses lush green valleys, three rivers, rolling farmland, fields of orchards, sunflowers, vines and ancient olive groves before meandering down to the coast to the unspoilt beaches of Baix Emporda. En route you will stop off overnight in Girona, a compact medieval city full of urban cool.

A couple of glasses of locally produced chilled Cava helps to maintain your cool, as does a swim in the Mediterranean when you reach the lively fishing port of Palamos after your 140km journey.

This 6nights/7 day cycle holiday is available from April 1st to 26th November from £695 and includes 6 nights accommodation, breakfast, 3 dinners, light weight 21 speed touring bikes, helmets, maps, fact sheets, all transfers including luggage from hotel to hotel, and the back up service of a Cycle Catalan guide.
