In just five weeks time two life-size characters from the brand new movie from Disney / Pixar, Cars 2, will be making their British debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Moving Motor Show (presented by Auto Trader), being held in the spacious park land of Goodwood House from 30 June until 3 July.

The Festival of Speed is firmly established as the world’s greatest celebration of the history of motor sport and car culture, making it the ideal event for popular Cars film hero Lightning McQueen to cruise into Goodwood for a visit, accompanied by his new secret agent accomplice Finn McMissile.

Children from five to 55 will be able to engage with Disney / Pixar’s life-size race car star Lightning McQueen, and be introduced to the latest Cars 2 movie character Finn McMissile; a British Intelligence agent, voiced by legendary actor Sir Michael Caine.  These two key Cars 2 characters will appear at Goodwood three weeks before the latest movie from the legendary Pixar Animation Studios is released in UK cinemas on 22 July.

The Cars 2 character vehicles will be located opposite Goodwood House - with its imposing Jaguar E-Type structure – and near the track where over 350 vehicles and 90 star driver and riders, including nine current F1 teams, Jenson Button, Mark Webbers and many others, will be live in action. Lightning McQueen and Finn McMissile will add to the many and various attractions at Goodwood to keep younger members of the family entertained.  Festival entry for children 12 and under is free, with young adults (13-18) getting in for half price.

Attractions for younger Goodwood visitors will include the Junior Festival of Speed – offering plenty of activities to keep the youngsters amused – plus Goodwood Action Sports (GAS), a new and exciting adrenalin-fuelled Festival feature for 2011 with the world’s finest athletes performing amazing feats on two wheels, including record-breaking freestyle motocross (FMX) rider Robbie Maddison and British FMX star Jamie Squibb, plus pro-mountain biker Danny McAskill and legendary BMX stunt riders Kye and Leo Forte.  Add multiple World Trials Champion and Goodwood favourite Dougie Lampkin in to the mix, and you will have a breathtaking cast of top riders defying gravity and performing incredible tricks in mid-air.

Cars 2 is produced by Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.  The movie is directed by John Lasseter and features the voices of Owen Wilson, Sir Michael Caine, Emily Mortimer and Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton.

Cars 2 will be presented in Disney Digital 3-D and IMAX 3-D in selected UK theaters from 22 July.
