The perfect relocation in Rayleigh

Relocating can be a very big decision, but when Michael Portman was looking to downsize from a five bedroom house in Kent to move in with his partner Julia in Essex, he needed little convincing to make the move across the River Thames.
Together they brought a three bedroom house at the What House? Housebuilder of the Year Weston Homes development The Barringtons, Rayleigh.
Houses at The Barringtons have certainly proved popular and anyone wishing to enjoy spacious family living in the historical Essex market town of Rayleigh will need to act fast, as there is only one, three bedroom house and three, four bedroom houses remaining at the development.
Michael, a 46-year-old builder, and Julia brought their new home on March 4th 2011, moving in with Julia ‘s two children, aged 11 and four. Following an eight month search for a house, The Barringtons caught the couple’s eye whilst driving through Rayleigh. After looking around the development, a quick and easy process followed towards buying their first property together.
Michael commented: “I was living in Kent and my partner was living in Eastwood, Essex, we were looking to move in together and one day we drove past The Barringtons. The flags outside caught my attention and when we drove into the cul-de-sac, it was a really nice development. I knew that Rayleigh was a very nice area in Essex and it was a lovely house at The Barringtons, so it wasn’t a hard decision to buy.”
The Barringtons, a niche collection of just 14 three and four bedroom family homes in Rayleigh, is close to the train station and offers an easy commute into London in around 45 minutes. Each home comes with allocated parking either with driveways, carports or garages and potential buyers have three styles of houses remaining to choose from all finished to a high standard, with fully fitted kitchen, luxury family bathroom, en-suites and gardens.
Michael added: “I was living in a five bedroom house in Kent, but I was looking to downsize and move to Essex. I have ventured out a few times into town in Rayleigh since moving into the house and it’s a nice area to live in; we are both really pleased with our new property. I work all over the country, which means living so close to the train station and the excellent commuter links into London are a big help.”
Bob Weston, Chairman and Chief Executive for Weston Homes, comments: “Now is a good time to buy a new home. With several different types of house offering flexible living accommodation The Barringtons is perfect for growing families in search of extra space.”
Prices for the three and four bedroom houses start from £299,950. For further information visit: weston-homes.com/thebarringtons
