IM Distinction Diversified Real Return Fund wins HFM Week award
The IM Distinction Diversified Real Return Fund (DRR), managed by Armstrong Investment Managers (AIM), triumphed at last week’s HFM Week European Performance awards. The Fund won the award for the UCITS III – other category, which was open to all UCITS III funds that are not invested purely in equities. The DRR Fund beat off competition from a range of peers in the multi-asset, global macro and multi-strategy space to claim the award.
The independent judging panel praised the DRR Fund ‘for making full use of the UCITS wrapper and generating impressive risk-adjusted returns’. The judges take into account a combination of quantitative and qualitative information when assessing the awards entries, including volatility, risk management and track record.
The DRR Fund launched in January 2010 and has generated sector leading returns with low volatility, delivering a Sharpe Ratio of 2.7.
Dr Ana Armstrong, managing partner of AIM, collected the award from former Labour Home Secretary John Reid at the Hurlingham Club in West London. ‘While our focus remains on delivering inflation-beating, real returns for investors, it is nice to be recognised by industry peers for the strong risk adjusted performance we have achieved to date,’ said Ana.
