Belper-based Peveril Homes is celebrating after winning the ‘Best Partnership with a Local Authority’ award, in conjunction with Amber Valley Borough Council (AVBC), at the 2011 East Midlands Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Awards.

The LABC Building Excellence Awards recognise and reward the best quality construction in the region. The quality stems from good design and an efficient technical team, and is translated into buildings by an effective construction team. Throughout this process LABC monitors the quality of design and construction.

Presented at the Leicester Marriott Hotel by Central TV Presenter Lucy Kite and Mick Henman (LABC President), Peveril Homes was nominated for three categories in total and in addition to winning Best Partnership award, walked away with second place and ‘Highly Commended’ for both ‘Best Social Housing Development’, for its site on Highfield Road, Swadlincote and ‘Best Large Housing Development’ for Burlington Place in Sherwood.

Colin Wright, Construction and Technical Director for Peveril Homes, said: “We were delighted to collect this award and to come second in our other two categories was an added bonus. It’s a great testament to the hard work of everyone at the company and I would like to thank every member of the team for their hard work and contributions.”

As a result of their success, the company has automatically been nominated for the LABC National Building Excellence Awards which will be held later this year.

Peveril Homes is one of the Midlands’ leading house builders, with a reputation for achieving a consistently high quality of build in traditional homes, combining new design and technology to develop housing that meets the demands of 21st century living.
