Help for home buyers in Halifax

First time buyers could save over £40,000 on the initial price of a brand new home in Halifax with HomeBuy Direct.

The Government backed scheme means they can put off paying up to 30% of the price of a new home at Redrow’s Wheatley Chase venture in Keighley Road until they’ve got more funds available.

So, a two-bedroom ‘Evesham’ style home on the market at £110,999 could be purchased for an initial outlay of just £77,699. Consequently they should need a much smaller deposit.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), explained: “Research by the Halifax* suggests that the majority of non-homeowners aspire to owning their own home but fear they won’t be able to secure a mortgage. HomeBuy Direct is designed to help those who would otherwise be priced out of the housing market by making homeownership more affordable. A deposit of around £5,000 plus a mortgage for a maximum of 70% of the property’s value is all they should need to buy a three-bedroom home at Wheatley Chase.”

The outstanding balance can be repaid when the client has more funds available or when they come to resell.

HomeBuy Direct is available on selected new homes at Wheatley Chase and is open to first time buyers and those starting over after a change of circumstances, such as divorce, provided their annual family income is less than £60,000.

“Buying a home can seem daunting, particularly if it’s your first, but our friendly experienced sales team are here to help. They will guide customers through the home buying process, making it as simple and straight forward as possible. We take pride in delivering high levels of customer service so that our clients can enjoy their new home,” Patsy added.

Redrow has produced an easy to follow video guide to HomeBuy Direct, which can be viewed via the broadband television channel Redrow.TV.

The homes at Wheatley Chase look traditional from the outside, with some finished in stone in keeping with neighbouring properties. Inside they are bright and modern with a high specification as standard.

Kitchens are well equipped with integrated ovens, fridge freezers and microwaves with floor to ceiling units and extra wide drawers that offer plenty of storage space. Bathrooms and en-suites enjoy quality fixtures and fittings with an exclusive tile range.

The quality of the designs can be appreciated with a visit to the fully furnished ‘Warwick’ show home and the accompanying ‘Durham’ view home, open daily from 10am to 5.30pm.
