Miller Homes is the toast of Scotland having claimed two prizes at this year’s Scottish Home awards, including the acclaimed the Large Housebuilder of the Year award.

The UK’s largest privately owned housebuilder also picked up the gong for Luxury House of the Year at a prestigious ceremony at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on Thursday 9 June.

Hosted by BBC news anchor Catriona Shearer and Dougie Vipond, anchor and main reporter for BBC Scotland's Sportscene programmes, the event saw over 500 guests from the housing industry watch on as Miller Homes claimed the Large Housebuilder of the Year award.

Meanwhile, Miller Homes’ Playfair house type at Graysmill Gait, Edinburgh was also voted Luxury House of the Year. Elegant and built to an exceptional standard with the modern family in mind, the Playfair is set close to the picturesque banks of the water of Leith.

These latest triumphs build on what is proving to be a successful year for Miller Homes, having already claimed top prizes at both the Housing Excellence awards and First Time Buyer magazine’s reader awards in 2011.

Keith Miller, CEO for Miller Homes, commented: “It is a real honour to accept these awards, particularly the much coveted Large Housebuilder of the Year award, which represents an outstanding achievement given the level of competition.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank every member of our staff for making a contribution to what has so far proved to be a hugely successful year for the company.”

Miller Homes continues to offer a range of purchase incentives to assist buyers onto the property ladder nationwide. The housebuilder has introduced a range of schemes such as Deposit Match for new buyers and increased their Part Exchange product which now allows existing home owners to trade up or down the ladder depending on their circumstances.
