Isle of Man Food and Drink Festival

Lovers of fresh local produce and the sunny outdoors are welcomed to the Isle of Man Food and Drink Festival taking place on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September 2011.

This year’s Festival will showcase mouth-watering specialities from the Island’s local producers, including the world famous Manx kippers, tasty and sustainably fished Queenie scallops and the unique Manx Loaghtan lamb.

On Saturday, MasterChef semi-Finalist Stacie Stewart will be cooking in the Manx Food Theatre, followed on Sunday by James Martin, celebrity chef and star of the BBC’s Saturday Kitchen.  Visitors can look forward to watching fresh local ingredients being cooked with flair and enthusiasm.

“After the success of last year’s Festival, with guest chef Gino D’Acampo, I am really looking forward to being a part of the 2011 Festival on the Island”, says James. “I am very excited about experimenting with fresh, local ingredients and hope that visitors will enjoy the results. The Festival is a wonderful way to showcase what the Isle of Man has to offer, and of course support local producers and the economy.”

There will be plenty of activities for the whole family including tastings in the producers’ marquee, milking a (pretend) cow and enjoying live music and dance performances.

The Isle of Man is easily accessible, with ferries sailing from Liverpool, Heysham, Belfast and Dublin and airlines operating from airports throughout the UK including Birmingham, East Midlands, Gloucester, Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol, London City, Gatwick, Luton, Dublin and Belfast.

Travel packages include a three-night break for just £254 with Everymann Holidays. This package is valid for travel 24 September 2011 and is based on three nights’ accommodation in the four-star Palace Hotel and Casino including breakfast, with travel by sea from Liverpool.
