Clarion FZ501E

Demonstrating its continued commitment to developing a better integrated in-car infotainment experience for the user, Clarion’s latest ‘mechless’ (no-moving mechanical parts) audio head unit provides a lesson in efficiency without the loss of functionality, to deliver a state-of-the-art audio upgrade option in the process.

The FZ501E utilises a unique seven-way rotary control that delivers a more intuitive operating experience, and with no other buttons, crucially, it’s easier to operate.

Combined with built-in Bluetooth support and an integral microphone - including direct phone list access via the head unit controls - the driver can keep their eyes on the road for longer, resulting in a safer in-car infotainment experience all round.

Bluetooth also allows for audio streaming (HPF & A2DP) via a mobile phone, in addition to traditional methods of audio playback via USB/MP3/WMA, while a front auxiliary input supports ancillary media players.

Highlighting the wealth of other features available for 2011, iPhone integration is offered via a USB slot on the front of the head unit, while iPod video is also supported (optional CCA748 cable and universal monitor required) with the optional addition of stand-alone screens via 4-channel line-outs that support and encourage greater system expansion.

Ensuring the sound quality matches the superb spec, the FZ501E boasts a 4 x 50 watt MOS-FET internal power amplifier, built-in high pass and low pass filters that restore the subtleties of sound traditionally lost during digital compression of files, and Beat EQ for greater sound customisation.

The FZ501 is available from Clarion appointed dealers across the UK, priced at RRP £170.  For more details, visit clarion.co.uk.
