A Ferrari 575M Maranello originally owned by legendary rock guitarist Eric Clapton and subsequently by Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans, is coming under the hammer with Silverstone Auctions on 23 July.

The yellow ‘Giallo Fly’ Ferrari with black ‘Nero Daytona’ leather was built to Clapton’s specification and delivered in 2003. The 200 mph-plus V12 Ferrari sports the semi-automatic F1 gearbox and many factory-fitted extras including a Fiorano handling kit, satnav, interior carbon fibre pack, yellow brake callipers, Scuderia windshield and full Ferrari service history with two cam belt changes. With a Tubi exhaust and hi-fi system with sub woofer, the magnificent music made by this Italian supercar is only equalled by the legendary musical heritage of its first owner.

For sale with Silverstone Auctions during the Silverstone Classic race weekend at the Northamptonshire circuit, other supercars offered for sale include a number of Porsche models. A 2010 911 GT3 RS (Generation 2) is one of only 35 cars officially imported into the UK’s Porsche dealer network. In white with white-gold wheels and decals, it has 6,500 miles on the clock from new. A ‘Carrera Cup car for the road’, this GT3’s roll-cage has been removed but is available.

A number of other Porsche models include a red 1968 911, restored and with the original seats available, a 1973 911 S Targa in black and a 1987 Porsche 924 2.5 S.
