Fundraising is a family affair for Linden Homes sales advisor

Stepping out to raise awareness of diabetes is Linden Homes sales advisor Vanessa Allison.
Vanessa, will be joined by husband Andrew and their three sons, as well as dozens of other fundraisers for the sponsored walk along Cleethorpes promenade on Sunday, 24 July.
The event is being organised by national charity, Diabetes UK – which estimates some 2.8 million people have been diagnosed in the UK with diabetes. It is thought that an additional 850,000 people have the condition but don’t know it.
Vanessa’s own son, two-year-old Toby, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was aged just 16 months.
Vanessa, who is familiar face at the Linden Homes Renaissance development in New Waltham, said: “Many people talk about diabetes and although it affects so many people in the UK, it isn’t until the condition affects someone in your own family or close to you that you sit up and take more notice.”
Linden Homes will be sponsoring Vanessa, who as a mum of three (including two teenage boys) will be embarking on her first ever charity event.
“It’s certainly not a hike – more of a gentle stroll,” said Vanessa. “But I’ve never done anything like this before so am looking forward to getting involved.”
If you would like to support Vanessa and help raise funds for the national charity that helps support and advise diabetes sufferers, you can do so by calling into the Renaissance sales office.
