Purchasing a new home just got even more affordable

Price reductions at Persimmon Homes’ Okemont Grove development in Okehampton mean purchasing a home within easy commuting distance of Exeter just got even more affordable.

And with the new government funded FirstBuy scheme available, along with Part Exchange and Part Exchange Plus, now is the time to take a look at the development.

Nina Hester, sales director for Persimmon Homes South West, comments: “While Okemont Grove is only a 25 minute drive from Exeter, prices are significantly lower than in the city itself. Plus, prices have just been reduced further, making it a top choice for anyone wanting a lovely rural home yet close to the city.”

Plot 27, a four bedroom detached Northcott house-type with a double garage, has been reduced to £219,995. It enjoys a lovely location on the development with views across farmland and nothing overlooking the property.

On the ground floor is a large dual aspect living room and a spacious kitchen / dining room leading to a utility room, along with a cloakroom. The first floor sees the master bedroom with en suite, three further good sized bedrooms and a family bathroom. It is due to be completed in August.

Plot 200 is another spacious four bedroom detached property which has been reduced to £225,500. The Harrison also comes with a double garage and is situated in a nice location as you enter the development. It is due to be completed in October.

There is front facing living room with a bay window, a kitchen leading to a utility room, a separate dining room with patio doors to the rear garden and a cloakroom on the ground floor. Upstairs is a master bedroom with en suite, three further bedrooms and the family bathroom.

Persimmon is offering the FirstBuy scheme on both these properties to first time buyers. Eligible applicants are offered an equity loan of up to a maximum of 20 per cent of the purchase price and gain a mortgage for the remaining amount. For the first five years, there is no interest to pay on the equity loan.

Persimmon’s Part Exchange schemes are also available to help buyers avoid getting stuck in a chain.

A real community spirit is already developing at Okemont Grove which includes a play area and small lake on the site. Dartmoor is at the back of the development, offering beautiful views across open countryside and farmland.

The development is only a short walk from Okehampton with day-to-day amenities including a good shopping centre. For those looking to commute, the main A30 dual carriageway which runs through Devon and Cornwall is close by, leading to Exeter 25 miles away and Launceston 17 miles away.
