A limited number of free tickets are now available for the thrilling World Series by Renault weekend of motorsport action, which takes place at Silverstone on Saturday and Sunday, 20th and 21st August.

Commenting on the news, Renault UK Managing Director, Thierry Sybord, said: “World Series by Renault at Silverstone is quite simply the best free motorsport-themed day out a family can have and although we received an enormous demand for tickets again this year with requests for 100,000 so far, we kept some back to make sure people were not disappointed closer to the time of the event.”

The free of charge event is the only place in the UK where you can see a modern day Formula One car in action without paying a penny. And for the first time in the six-year history of World Series by Renault, there will be three live demonstrations on the full Grand Prix circuit on each day.

The tyre-smoking, high-speed demonstration runs of the Lotus Renault F1 Team car are just the pinnacle of the entertainment Renault is bringing to Silverstone. On track there is the chance to see the scintillating Formula Renault 3.5 single-seaters, in which reigning World Champion Sebastian Vettel raced before graduating to Formula One. A full programme of supporting races includes the amazing Mégane Trophy racers, door-to-door racing with Clio Cup and tomorrow’s stars in Formula Renault 2.0.

In another first this year, there is also the chance to get behind the wheel yourself with Renault’s incredible Hot Laps experience in a Mégane Renaultsport 250 Cup. For just £35, subject to terms and conditions, you can revel in six laps of Silverstone’s Stowe Circuit during World Series by Renault behind the wheel and feel the full power and performance of the 149mph, 2.0-litre Mégane which was named ‘Best Hot Hatch’ in the 2010 and 2011 What Car? ‘Car of the Year’ awards.

Renault has a lot to celebrate this year, so there’s even more to see off track at World Series by Renault 2011. It’s the 50th anniversary of the versatile Renault 4, whilst at the other end of the scale collectors are hoping to gather 20 rare Alpine-Renault A610 sportscars to celebrate 20 years since it went on sale.

The F1 Roadshow gives visitors the chance to get within touching distance of the Lotus Renault F1 Team race car – as driven by Nick Heidfeld and Vitaly Petrov. Test drivers Romain Grosjean and Jan Charouz will be putting the car through its paces on track, but the team will also entertain crowds in the paddock too.

Among the many other attractions is a Formula One Pit Stop Challenge. Children and grown-ups alike can enjoy a range of activities including giant inflatables and dodgems. There are also realistic racing simulators to race friends and family on.

Two of Renault’s new range of electric cars, Fluence Z.E. and Twizy will be on show and Renaultsport fans will be able to admire Renault’s award-winning collection of hot hatches including the brand new Mégane Renaultsport 265 Trophy, Clio Renaultsport 200 and Twingo Renaultsport 133. Renault Trucks will have a display stand with its Magnum and you can climb into the cockpit and get behind the wheel.

Not to be missed is the ESperience, a white-knuckle free passenger ride with a professional instructor, demonstrating how both ESC (electronic stability control) and ABS (anti-lock braking system) can save lives.
