First new arrival brings joy at Willow Gardens

A new homes development in Hailsham has welcomed its first arrival in the shape of baby Abigael.
At just six weeks old, Abigael Shoult became the first baby to be born at Willow Gardens, and proud parents Tania and Julian couldn’t have been happier to bring her back to their all-new Redrow home.
The couple, who moved in last December, have been finding life is much easier in a brand new home, with no DIY or decorating to worry about. Instead, they can spend more time doting on the new addition to their family.
Nursery nurse Tania, 30, said: “The development has a real family feel and our neighbours have been round to congratulate us. We think it will be a great place to bring up a child.
“We moved from a two-bedroom apartment in Tunbridge Wells, which was smaller, cold and had quite a few maintenance issues. As soon as we moved in to our new house at Willow Gardens, we knew we could relax. Everything was brand new and all the work was done for us.”
The couple have moved into a three-bedroom ‘Tenby’ house. “We find the layout of the Tenby property really functional for a young family,” Tania added. “We’ve got a large lounge and an open plan kitchen and dining room. There’s plenty of space, which is great with a new baby.”
A brand new Redrow home is also up to 40% more efficient than one built only 10 years ago, so potentially cheaper to run over time; it includes integrated appliances covered by manufacturers’ two-year guarantees; and comes with an NHBC 10-year ‘Buildmark’ warranty.
Tania added: “Our fuel bills have reduced and it’s certainly much cheaper to heat than our old apartment. As soon as we moved in the first thing we noticed was how warm and well insulated it was.”
Redrow’s New Heritage Collection at Willow Gardens, features traditional looking Arts & Crafts inspired homes. “Our house looks like the houses you remember from childhood; like a real family home,” Tania added.
Located on the A22, just eight miles from Eastbourne, about 25 miles from Royal Tunbridge Wells and a similar distance from Brighton, Willow Gardens is well placed as a base for commuters, but has plenty of amenities nearby in Hailsham itself.
Purchasers of selected three-bedroom homes at Willow Gardens can still take advantage of HomeBuy, which provides an equity loan for up to 30% of the purchase price, jointly funded by Redrow and the Homes & Communities Agency. Eligible customers include first time buyers, those starting over after a relationship breakdown, or families who can prove they need the extra space, so long as their annual household income is less than £60,000.
With HomeBuy Direct a three-bedroom ‘Broadway’ home, usually costing £209,950, can be snapped up for an initial outlay of less than £146,965. The outstanding loan is interest free for five years and can be paid back when the home owner has more funds available or comes to resell.
Other four-bedroom homes are priced from £289,950.
