Stress is one of the biggest results of planning a wedding and according to CNN Travel, couples should consider hitting the road to reduce that unnecessary anxiety. One of the biggest advantages of destination weddings is that couples can enjoy intimate gatherings with family and friends, many times at a fraction of the cost of traditional hometown weddings. To help couples planning a destination wedding cut back on expenses, Hyatt Regency Curaçao Golf Resort, Spa and Marina is offering 10 percent off wedding menu food and beverage items. The special is valid for weddings that are booked by 31 December, 2011 and take place by 31 December, 2012.

Additionally, couples who spend $10,000(approx. £6,032)or more can receive a complimentary two-night stay at a participating Hyatt Resort of their choice. Those who spend $20,000(approx. £12,063)can receive a three-night stay; $30,000(approx. £18,094)receive a four-night stay and $40,000(approx. £24,127)receive a five-night stay.

“There is a misconception that destination weddings are more costly than traditional at-home weddings,” said Anjali Jethmalani, events manager. “In fact, Hyatt Regency Curaçao provides affordable wedding packages that include some of the more expensive items like photography already built in the total cost. If booked separately, these services can be much more expensive.”

Packages start at just $3,000 (approx. £1,810) and include, but are not limited to, wedding coordination by a wedding specialist, non-denominational ceremony on the beach, bridal bouquet and groom’s boutonniere, wedding cake, champagne toast for guests, photography, solo musician and complimentary guestroom for bride and groom on their wedding night.

Whether an intimate two-person affair or a lavish 500 guest event, Hyatt Regency Curaçao features a selection of ceremony and reception venues, inspired by the indigenous culture of the island, ranging from the resort’s private Shaman Beach, Caneye Wedding Pavilion and well-manicured Wakura or Zemi Lawns to the more traditional Arawak or Lokono Ballrooms. Elegant patio seating areas, perfect for pre or post wedding cocktails, include the breezy Stanibari or Huri Huri Terraces.

Before or after the big day, the wedding party and guests can play a round of golf at the Old Quarry — a Pete Dye designed golf course, relax with natural spa treatments at Atabei Spa, sunbathe at any of the multiple pools or private beach or dine at one of the resort’s three restaurants. With 350 rooms, the resort also features a StayFit@Hyatt fitness centre, jogging and cycling trail, tennis and volleyball courts.
