Land Rover’s support for The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, from 1st to 4th September, will be unmissable this year with more than 60 vehicles supporting the event.  Competition officials, fence judges, medical teams and competitors will benefit from Land Rover event vehicles which will also form part of the design of special feature fences on the Cross Country course.

Land Rover’s presence will also include a full vehicle display, hospitality pavilion and the Land Rover Experience, which will be giving a taste of legendary Land Rover off-road performance with passenger rides over a purpose-built course located by the Lion Bridge.

The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials is celebrating a half-century of top competition this year, having first taken place in 1961. The pinnacle of the autumn Eventing season, Burghley has a long and successful association with Land Rover, which marks its seventh year as title sponsor in 2011.

Land Rover UK Managing Director Colin Green said: “Land Rover has a great relationship with Burghley and we are excited to be a part of the anniversary celebrations for the event's unique 50-year achievement.

The occasion gives us a superb opportunity to showcase our vehicles in a setting that perfectly reflects important aspects of our brand, and to demonstrate our on-going support for equestrian sports and countryside pursuits. It also allows us to reveal to thousands of spectators the contemporary design, quality and technical sophistication that help define Land Rover today, not least in the outstanding new Range Rover Evoque.”

The new Range Rover Evoque, recently named the Auto Express Car of the Year, will be making its Burghley debut. The stylish Coupe and 5-Door models lead a full line-up of Land Rover’s multi-award-winning range.

Last year, the Company announced a further three-year title sponsorship agreement that will continue through to the 2013 trials. For the first time this year, Land Rover owners visiting Burghley will be able to park in a dedicated forward Land Rover car park, located close to the lake.

Land Rover will again be presenting the Land Rover Perpetual Challenge Trophy for the winning owner, with further awards for the highest placed British rider competing at the event for the first time and also for the rider of the winning horse.
