White Night Festival lights the way in Brighton this autumn
The cosmopolitan city of Brighton and Hove has a jam-packed calendar of events designed to help visitors forget the shorter days and celebrate the longer nights this autumn.
To mark the end of British Summer Time, the City's famous White Night Festival returns on 29 October. This nocturnal celebration, where the entire city is invited to, 'do something different in the middle of the night', features a plethora of free cultural events and activities; with many venues - including art galleries, shops and cafes - staying open throughout the night.
Among the activities on offer as the clocks go back are street performances, sound, lighting and sculptural installations, a midnight half marathon, a family-friendly magical bike ride, swimming until 1am, historical night tours and the Alternative Village Fete.
Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the Brighton Comedy Festival hits the city from 7 October for 16 witty days. With 50 excuses for a great night out including Michael McIntyre, Frankie Boyle and Jimmy Carr, the line up boasts more famous names and plenty of up-and-coming talent.
For design and craft lovers, MADE11 returns to the Corn Exchange from 17 to 20 November. This high quality event gives visitors the opportunity to buy original and exceptional pieces from the best local and national makers, plus pick up a quirky, bespoke gift in plenty of time for Christmas.
With accommodation ranging from budget to boutique, an endless supply of quality restaurants and some of the best events in Britain, Brighton is the perfect place to enjoy a weekend away this autumn.
