Linden Homes to launch new developments in Birmingham

Linden Homes, the residential house building arm of Galliford Try, is due to mark its first foray into the Birmingham market with the launch of two brand new developments.
Work is currently underway in the Longbridge and Bartley Green areas of the city. Working with the Birmingham Municipal Housing Trust (BMHT) and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), Linden Homes hopes to bring a total of 51 new properties to the area across the two developments.
The Mews, located on Moors Lane in Bartley Green, will feature 12 new homes, in a mix of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom properties, priced from £139,995. Meanwhile, The Lanes on Frogmill Road, Longbridge, will have 39 homes for sale, with 2 to 5 bedroom house styles available from £134,995. House hunters will be able to take a first-hand look at the properties when the show home at The Lanes opens in November.
Peter Bond, regional sales and marketing director for Linden Homes, comments: “It’s an exciting time for Linden Homes, as The Mews and The Lanes are our first projects in the city and we expect they will be well received by home hunters in the area when they are launched.
“We’re committed to addressing the need for new homes in Birmingham, which is what makes our partnership with the BHMT and HCA all the more important.”
Birmingham City Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, Cllr John Lines, said: “I’m delighted that Birmingham City Council along with its partners, are able to announce more good news about creating new properties for the residents of Birmingham.
“The developments in Bartley Green and Longbridge will create 51 new houses, and is another example of the council’s commitment to helping to deliver good quality, modern family homes.”
Each property built at these developments will feature contemporary, high design principles. In particular, an emphasis has been placed on the environment, so they will meet Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, which measures the sustainability of a property against its design. The properties include specifications that reduce energy usage, thus helping to save resources and money. The homes will also meet the Secured by Design criteria and will, of course, be built to Linden Homes’ high quality standards, encompassing award-winning customer service levels and a professional sales approach.
The new homes in Birmingham will appeal to a wide range of potential purchasers, including local residents wanting to move up or down the property ladder, first time buyers and professionals looking to take advantage of the anticipated competitive prices, excellent commuter links and access to Birmingham city centre. Indeed, the M5 motorway lies just a couple of miles away, while the A38 provides a direct route into the city centre. With bus links also within walking distance, this truly is an attractive base for commuters.
The location is close to amenities and there are a number of educational establishments nearby, making it ideal for families and students of Newman College and University and University of Birmingham. Anyone looking for leisure activities can make the most of Bartley Green Reservoir & Sailing Club, whilst the Worcestershire countryside, on the doorstep, is ripe for exploration.
