New homes in Barton upon Humber took pole position with Formula 1 fans when two racing ‘legends’ made a special appearance.

Lookalikes of Maclaren team mates Lewis Hamilton (Wendel Silva Viera) and Jenson Button (Nick Lancaster), helped drive visitors to Fox’s Fold at an event to promote the Redrow homes to commuters.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), explained: “Our Formula 1 event was a great success as visitors raced down to Fox’s Fold to have their photographs taken with the doubles of the drivers. The homes are less than a 30-minute drive away from Hull, but the cost of travelling over the Humber Bridge can take its toll on commuters’ finances. To mitigate the travel costs we’re offering to pay customers’ bridge tolls for up to three years.

“It’s an offer that’s sure to appeal to both those who already live on the south side of the bridge and commute into the city and those who live in Hull but want a home close to some beautiful countryside.”

Those who want to take advantage of Redrow’s bridge toll incentive should race down to Fox’s Fold in Tofts Road as it’s only available on homes reserved before October 31.

At current rates, for someone who works a five-day week, 48 weeks of the year, that’s a massive saving of £1,296 every year.

Those who visited Fox’s Fold during the event were entered into a free prize draw to win one of three sets of family tickets to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone next summer.
