Visitors to the Mazda London Triathlon are being offered the chance to win entry into Spain’s most popular swim-bike-run event by London Triathlon headline sponsor Mazda UK and event organiser IMG. As well as receiving two places to compete in the stunning Garmin Barcelona Triathlon in Spain’s Catalonia region, the winner will also get flights and two night’s accommodation in the four-star Barcelona Princess Hotel.

Visitors can enter the prize draw by filling an entry form at the Mazda Suite, located near the finish line of the Mazda London Triathlon, at London’s ExCeL centre, Docklands, on 1 and 2 August.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to win entry into Spain’s most popular triathlon and visit one of Europe’s truly exciting cities,” comments Mark Cameron, Mazda UK sales and marketing director. “The Garmin Barcelona Triathlon proved a huge success in 2008, with over 2500 competitors from around the world taking part, and this year’s event is set to be even bigger and better.”

The Garmin Barcelona Triathlon takes place on Sunday 18 October at La Mar Bella stadium, which is located in Avenida Litoral, Barcelona. The race starts on Mar Bella beach for the sea swim, followed by a bike route that captures the city’s impressive monuments and architecture, and finally a coastal run that finishes back at the beach.

Now in its 13th year, the Mazda London Triathlon is the world’s largest triathlon and each year raises more than £3 million for various charities. The race takes in major London Landmarks including, Big Ben, The London Eye and Tower Bridge.

Mazda is committed to growing the sport of triathlon. As well as providing sponsorship to major events such as the Mazda Blenheim and London Triathlons, Mazda also sponsors elite triathlete Tim Don to act as an ambassador for the sport. Mazda will also be entering a team of 46 in this year’s Mazda London Triathlon. Team Mazda comprises staff from all areas of the business, including senior directors and dealership employees, along with a number of automotive and sports journalists

Triathlon is the fastest growing mass participation sport in the world due to its accessibility, scope to train both indoors and out and the variety it offers its competitors at each stage of the event.

“Mazda’s Zoom-Zoom philosophy is about exhilarating experiences and the thrill of challenging oneself, which triathlon echoes perfectly,” explains Mark Cameron, who is competing in the Mazda London Triathlon 2009. “I’m looking forward to joining the other 13,000 competitors in this year’s event and celebrating with many of them at the finish.”
