Just three weeks after the launch, St. Modwen Homes has revealed that over 20 properties have now been reserved at its Park View development in Longbridge; the first new homes to be built on the site of the former MG Rover Works.

Offering a total of 113 houses and apartments, the outstanding rate of sale has demonstrated the pent-up demand for high quality new homes in Longbridge. More than 120 potential purchasers visited the highly anticipated Park View show homes and marketing suite in the first week alone, including many local residents. It is anticipated that the first properties will be ready for occupation in November.

Situated off the tree-lined Lickey Road, the development is proving popular with couples, families and first time buyers alike. Prices start from £125,000 for a two-bedroom apartment and from £152,000 for the houses, which include a selection of two, three and four bedroom designs.

Neil Simpson, sales and marketing director for St. Modwen Homes said: “The response to these stunning new homes at Park View has been overwhelming. For us to have reserved over 20 properties in the first couple of weeks has shattered all expectations and is a really positive indication of the high demand that we expect to continue across the entire development. It is also very encouraging that much of this demand has been from the local area, with existing residents looking to both upscale and downsize at Park View, along with first time buyers looking to get on the property ladder.”

Built to an exceptionally high specification, each home includes a comprehensive range of integrated appliances within the designer kitchens, while the contemporary Hansgrohe bath and shower rooms benefit from storage cabinets and porcelain floor and wall tiles as standard. St. Modwen Homes is also turfing all rear gardens at no extra cost to the purchasers.

Neil continues: “People visiting the development have continually been impressed by the high quality fixtures and fittings that the properties boast. We have designed the homes with oversized windows and ceiling heights that are higher than usual; the purchasers have really noticed how light and airy the rooms are. Most of the room dimensions are also much bigger than you would generally find in other new homes. Park View has been given the seal of approval by local people and, with little other competition around, I am looking forward to welcoming many more visitors to view what’s on offer here.”

Two fully-furnished show homes are now open to view seven days a week between 10am to 6pm, comprising a spectacular four-bedroom home and a spacious two-bedroom property, ideal for either a couple or two friends sharing, as it benefits from two double bedrooms.

Park View is the first housing development in the UK by St. Modwen Homes and it is being delivered in partnership with the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

St. Modwen has invested over £85 million at Longbridge since acquiring the 468 acre site in 2003. 660 permanent new jobs have already been created through the development of the Technology Park and Cofton Centre, new infrastructure improvements are being made, the £66 million state-of-the-art Bournville College has now opened, and work is scheduled to commence on the construction of the new Longbridge town centre before the end of the year, which will feature an 85,000 sq ft (50,000 sq ft net sales area) Sainsbury’s store.
