Christmas comes early to Princes Square

As one of Glasgow’s most loved shopping landmarks, Princes Square will get this year’s festive season started early on Thursday 10th November, with the enchanting reindeer parade down Buchanan Street and Christmas light switch on. Santa and his trusty flock are sure to delight all ages as they proceed through Glasgow city centre, marking the official start of Christmas at Princes Square.
With a £5.5 million refurbishment of the centre just unveiled it’s sure to be a memorable evening, giving shoppers their first chance to witness the new external façade as it is illuminated by glittering Christmas lights. Designed by acclaimed Glasgow based company Timorous Beasties it boasts an ornate foliage motif, designed to complement the internal ironwork features and beautifully frame the Grade B-listed building. Inside an elegant new interior finish will be transformed into a festive wonderland by thousands of dazzling Christmas lights.
Designed by James Glancy, whose mesmerising creations have adorned iconic locations such as London’s Carnaby Street, the spectacular decorations feature inspiring designs and are back by popular demand. The breathtaking Princes Square Christmas tree will also once again be suspended from the ceiling in the heart of the centre, spanning all three floors of glamorous stores, boutiques and restaurants – the perfect setting for a decadent Christmas outing. From fashion to art and everything in between, there is something for everyone in Princes Square this Christmas.
WHEN: Thursday 10th November, from 6pm
