New homes in Telford for first-time buyers

Taylor Wimpey helped homebuyer Amy Hooper to realise her dreams of property ownership at Castle Meadows, the leading housebuilder’s sought-after development of new homes for sale in Telford.
Amy Hooper had always thought the property ladder was out of her reach – until she discovered Taylor Wimpey’s incentives for first-time buyers at its Castle Meadows development of houses for sale in Telford.
Now the proud owner of a two-bedroom apartment at the leading housebuilder’s in-demand development of new build homes in Hadley, Telford, the 26-year-old is eager to spread the word about how Taylor Wimpey can help people onto the property ladder.
“As I was earning a moderate wage and paying rent, I thought I would never be able to save enough money to get a big enough deposit together for a home of my own,” says Amy, reflecting on her hopes of purchasing her own property in Telford.
“Owning my own home was something I had always wanted, but I thought it would never happen to me until I discovered what Taylor Wimpey could do.”
After hearing about buyer incentives, Amy, who works as a compliance administrator for Windsor Life Assurance in Telford, decided to investigate online, which led her to Taylor Wimpey’s website.
There, she found out more about the help the leading developer gives to purchasers in all circumstances at Castle Meadows.
Amy made an appointment to visit the development, and found she could take advantage of the assistance on offer from Taylor Wimpey for first-time buyers, which allowed her to secure her two-bedroom apartment with only a 5% deposit.
“I met with an independent financial advisor at the development and they took me through the whole buying process in great detail,” says Amy.
“I had great support from Taylor Wimpey, who did everything they could to help me, which was brilliant, especially as when I had enquired about buying a home with other housebuilders it felt as though they were putting hurdle after hurdle in front of me.
“They say buying a house is one of the most stressful things you will ever do, but with Taylor Wimpey, the complete opposite is true.”
Amy and her boyfriend James Slater (25), a support analyst with National Milk Laboratories in Wolverhampton are now loving their new life at Castle Meadows.
“Some new-builds can feel like a run-of-the-mill property, with every one being pretty much identical,” says Amy. “But, thanks to Taylor Wimpey’s range of interior Options, I have been able to make the apartment my own, by choosing the tiles, the kitchen and carpets myself, so it really feels like home.
“Having an en-suite bathroom to the master bedroom is a dream come true for me, and we particularly love the open-plan kitchen/living room as it’s a great space for entertaining. We really like the development as a whole, too.”
“We are on a cul de sac, which has a nice, safe feeling to it, and there’s plenty of green open spaces, which we love,” adds Amy.
“Hadley itself is a real up-and-coming area of Telford, and the fact so many properties have sold so quickly at Castle Meadows shows how much people love it here.”
Taylor Wimpey offers first-time buyers like Amy the opportunity to step on the property ladder with ease at Castle Meadows, through the fantastic Government-backed FirstBuy initiative, available now with selected homes at the development.
Subject to status, FirstBuy customers require only a 5% deposit and a 75% loan-to-value mortgage, with Taylor Wimpey and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) providing a 20% loan which is repayable at the end of the 25-year mortgage term or when the property is sold.
To be eligible for the scheme, first-time buyers must have a combined household income below £60,000.
Property-seekers can choose from a selection of two-bedroom apartments at Castle Meadows, priced from just £91,995, while four-bedroom houses are priced from as little as £152,995.
