Awards hope blossoming for Cheshire garden

The Balmoral at Redrow’s Hollies Farm development in Hartford has been shortlisted for the Best Garden – Family Home in the New Homes Gardens Awards.

House builder Redrow’s hopes for an award are growing after the garden of one of its Cheshire homes was shortlisted for an accolade.

The garden of the former show home at Hollies Farm in Hartford is among those competing for the title of Best Garden – Family Home in the New Homes Gardens Awards.

Just as Redrow’s professional interior designers dressed and decorated the four-bedroom Balmoral to create the impression of a lived in family home, so too landscapers from Chester based Landstruction Limited have created the perfect family garden.

The property has now been sold with the beautifully and meticulously planned garden intact.

Anita Williams, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), commented: “It’s a double celebration for Hollies Farm as not only has the show home garden been shortlisted for an award but we have now sold all of the properties at this exclusive development. We’re delighted to have been shortlisted as we recognise that for families a garden can be as important as the house itself.

“The Balmoral is very much a family home and we briefed the landscape designers to create a garden that could be enjoyed by a family in different ways, at different times of the day and all-year round. They’ve created a space that invites families to spend time together outside, whether relaxing, playing, dining, growing vegetables, picking fruit or watching birds in the bird bath.”

Redrow has also been shortlisted for the Best Show Home Garden for its ‘four seasons’ garden at The Bowery in Cheswick and will discover at an award ceremony later this month if its entries have won in the respective categories.

“The garden helped attract people into Hollies Farm to view the show home and demonstrated to visitors how how their own garden could look It was essential for it to be realistic and to be a functional space, which the orchard and vegetable beds illustrate, as it has become someone’s real family garden,” Anita added.

“While Hollies Farm has now sold out, we are building homes across the North West and North East Wales with developments in Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Wrexham and Flintshire. At each location we’ve enlisted the help of landscape designers to showcase the potential of the gardens and give inspiration to green-fingered homebuyers.”
