John and Janine Fairlie are delighted to have discovered their perfect family home at Taylor Wimpey’s St Edmunds Gate development of property for sale in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

In the seven years since Bury St Edmunds property-seekers Janine and John Fairlie last moved home, the couple had become a family and outgrown their old home.

The time was right for a move, so the couple headed to Taylor Wimpey’s St Edmund’s Gate development of new homes for sale in Bury St Edmunds where they found the spacious four-bedroom property they desired.

“We’d been living in a three-bedroom house in the centre of town for quite some time. It was our second home together but we needed somewhere bigger,” says Janine (33), recalling their search for houses for sale in Bury St Edmunds.

“We were attracted to St Edmunds Gate because we knew Taylor Wimpey build quality homes and that everything would be finished to a high standard. Also, the development is in an ideal location for the school we are sending our sons Oliver (4) and Benjamin (2) to when it’s time.”

Buying off-plan enabled the couple to choose from Taylor Wimpey’s superb range of interior Options to ensure their new property in Bury St Edmunds was completed to their personal specifications.

It also meant they could regularly visit to see how work on their new home – and the development of new build homes in Bury St Edmunds as a whole – was progressing.

“The Sales Executive was fantastic and helped us when it came to choosing the finishing touches we wanted in the property, we upgraded the flooring and tiling,” says Janine. “And we came back to see how the building work was going several times, it was really nice to see it develop in a step-by-step way.”

When they moved into their stylish four-bedroom home, the family were delighted to discover its generous lay-out and three floors made it perfect for their requirements.

“Our new home has got all the space we need; there are extra bedrooms and more living areas which means it is great for us now we have the children,” says Janine.

The Fairlies chose a generously-sized four-bedroom property from the stunning collection available at St Edmunds Gate.

A wide choice of similar-sized properties is on sale now at the development, including the four-bedroom ‘Fairfield’ detached house, priced from just £344,995.

This exceptional home features a generously-sized lounge with French doors leading to the private rear garden, plus a modern fitted kitchen/breakfast room complete with utility area, a separate dining room and a guest cloakroom on the ground floor.

Upstairs, the first-floor landing leads to two en-suite bedrooms and a study, while on the top floor are two further well-proportioned bedrooms and a main bathroom. Outside the property benefits from a double garage and two allocated parking spaces.

Alternatively, two-bedroom coach house-style apartments are available at St Edmunds Gate from as little as £149,995, three-bedroom houses from just £199,995 and five-bedroom homes from £369,995.

St Edmunds Gate is a development that enjoys the best of both town and country. Located within easy reach of the stunning Suffolk countryside, which offers mile upon mile of cycleways and footpaths to explore, it is also close to Bury St Edmunds town centre, with its traditional market and peaceful cathedral gardens, along with the new Arc retail and leisure quarter featuring a flagship Debenhams department store and 35 big-name shops and restaurants.

Closer still, a small supermarket, convenience store, post office, pub and restaurant are within half a mile of the new homes.
