A new development of traditional family homes in Royston is to officially launch in January.

Redrow has begun building the new homes at Hedera Green, off Baldock Road, and will open a marketing suite and three show homes in the New Year, marking the official sales launch.

However, Redrow is encouraging potential purchasers to register their interest early to have their pick of the positions at the new venture.

A selection of four and five-bedroom detached properties from Redrow’s New Heritage Collection are among the first to be released, all with gardens and private parking.

Mary Timlin, sales director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), said: “We are looking forward to officially launching Hedera Green in January and have already had a large number of enquiries from potential buyers. The location is perfect for those who want to enjoy a quiet country lifestyle with but be within 40 minutes of London by train.

“Our New Heritage Collection combines the best of old and new. Influenced by the ‘Arts and Crafts’ era, they boast period style exterior features with an interior specification to meet the needs of modern lifestyles.”

Just 40 minutes from London by direct train and close to the A1(M) and the M11 Royston is well connected for commuters, yet it retains the charm of a quiet market town.

Mary added: “Feedback from the majority of our customers tells us that they want a conventional two-storey home, preferably detached, with an easily accessible garage and a garden of their own. They want something that looks traditional, perhaps evocative of the family home they grew up in, but they want it to have the latest statement-making kitchens, bathrooms and good quality fixtures and fittings.

“We’ve wrapped this all up in our New Heritage Collection.”

Already popular at developments in St Neots and Bracknell, the homes feature convivial open plan living spaces, fashionable kitchen designs with floor to ceiling units and top brand name appliances, plus bathrooms that are sleek, modern and pleasing to the eye.

“This combination of traditional exterior and modern interior adds up to a home that can readily compete with the second hand sector for external character and wins hands down when it comes to stylish interiors, practical layouts, being energy efficiency and easy to maintain,” Mary said.

Hedera Green is well placed for local amenities in Royston itself; while Cambridge is just 14 miles away and Stevenage a similar distance.

The venture has been signed up to the Considerate Constructors Scheme, which means Redrow is on hand to help the local community and not hinder them in anyway. Over the course of the development, the site team will assist with local projects and provide benefits to the community in many ways.

In total, 81 new homes will be built and the development with incorporate areas of public open space and a new play area. A number of existing trees will be retained and new habitat areas created to encourage wildlife and natural plant species to flourish. Bat and bird boxes will also be incorporated.
