Andalucian International Walking and Cultural Festival 2012

12th December 2011 Print

Frontier Holidays invites you to join us for a unique celebration of Spanish culture as we proudly host the first Andalucian International Walking & Cultural Festival.

The Festival runs from February 26th - March 4th and takes place in the white mountain village of El Burgo, close to Sierra de las Nieves Nature Park. This area has select status as a member of the EDEN project, recognising areas of outstanding natural beauty and cultural importance across the European continent.

Our Festival offers a flexible programme - giving you the freedom to pick and choose from a range of walking and other interesting activities.

Each day there will be a choice of two graded guided walks. Led by experienced bilingual guides, these walks allow you to explore the spectacular natural beauty of this area.

Our programme is packed with an exciting range of activities, led by expert guides and tutors. You will experience Andalucian customs at first hand as you participate in the Olive Harvest & Virgin Oil Production, Andalucian Cookery Classes, Pottery, Bodega Wine Tasting Tour, Oil Painting, Bird & Wildlife Field Trip as well as a Cultural Tour of Historic Ronda.

The fun of the Festival continues into the evening with entertainment laid on such as, live music, a paella night and an astronomical night walk. The Festival also coincides with two local fiestas - Andalucia Day and The Carnival of El Burgo. This is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in traditional Spanish culture.
