A romantic Valentine break at the Lake Vyrnwy Hotel & Spa

5th January 2012 Print

For those whose idea of romance is waking up to views of a mountain-ringed lake – complete with ‘fairytale’ tower – then a Valentine break at the four-star Lake Vyrnwy Hotel & Spa, just over the Shropshire border in Powys, is the perfect option.

This country house hotel is idyllically set between lake and mountains on a 24000 acre estate and guests can enjoy walks along the 58 miles of footpath through the forests and moorland of the estate taking in the spectacular scenery or simply relax and snuggle down in front of a roaring log fire and enjoy the picturesque surroundings.

Alternatively there’s a Spa & Thermal Suite with a full range of therapies and treatments – and the spa boasts what has been dubbed the best waterside view in Europe.

All the bedrooms at the hotel are individually decorated and, for a spot of added romance, some of the hotel’s superior rooms also have special features including four poster beds and balconies.

The special two-night Valentine break – taken between 10 and 15 February – costs from £230 per person, twin-share, in a Lake View room inclusive of accommodation with breakfast, five -course dinners each evening, plus a red rose, a box of luxury chocolates and a chilled bottle of Rosé Freixenet in the room on arrival.

For those planning to propose at this time, the hotel features extra special ideas – available for a supplement – including Flowers and Champagne in the room on arrival (£55) or Champagne and strawberries delivered to the room on request (£50).
