Waking up to stunning sea views, snuggling up in front of cosy fires and exploring some of the most romantic places come top of the list of memorable Valentine’s breaks.

cornwallscottages.co.uk have a selection of fantastic value properties with all the ingredients for a loved up escape in the Duchy:

Lavinia Cottage is located in St Mawes, one of the most picturesque waterside villages in Cornwall, and even has one of the most romantic roads in the country. The historic cottage, thought to be at least 500 years old, is only yards from the sea front and has intimate, character rooms. Sleeping up to three in one double room and one single room, the cottage is available from Sunday 12 February 2012 for £429 a week.

Situated in Port Navas on the magical Helford River, famously immortalised by Daphne du Maurier in her romantic novel “Frenchman’s Creek,” Polwheveral is a terraced barn conversion with wonderful views down the creek and is a stone’s throw away from the famous Duchy Oyster Farm. With reverse level accommodation, there is a south-facing open plan living room/kitchen leading to a balcony upstairs and a double and single bedroom with bathroom on the ground floor. Polwheveral is available from Friday 10 February 2012 for £349 a week.

Located by the side of a beautiful creek and surrounded by rolling countryside just outside of Truro is Bethel Cottage, a charming character cottage. Part of the famous Tregothnan Estate, its position allows guests to watch the wildlife on the incoming tide from the bedroom window or even enjoy the fantastic views from the free standing bath! Wander along the creek side path through unique plum orchards or relax beside the cosy wood-burning stove. A week’s stay from Saturday 11 February 2012 is £549 for a week (short breaks are available from £384.30).
