New exhibition of premier historic motoring images
The Heritage Motor Centre (HMC) is to host a new gallery style exhibition entitled 'Motorgraphs' which will run from 28 January to 26 February showcasing exceptional motoring photography from the archives.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust (BMIHT) based at the HMC, has joined up with two exceptional private collections, the Zagari-Spitzley Collection and the Grand Prix Library to put 3,000 archive images online at motorgraphs.com for purchase as high quality prints. The 'Motorgraphs' Exhibition will feature a temporary gallery of 12 framed prints carefully chosen from these three Collections to give visitors a glimpse of the stunning photography now available for purchase. The Exhibition will incorporate a video screen displaying a wide selection of the archive pictures and advertising which can be purchased as prints from the 'Motorgraphs' website.
The images encompass more than 100 years of motoring, racing, rallying, advertising, manufacturing and social history; classic marques such as Mini, MG, Rover, Land Rover, Triumph and Austin-Healey; advertising and fashion from the roaring twenties to the swinging sixties; racing and rallying with the glamour of Austin Healey, Mini Cooper, BRM, and Ferrari; giants of the motor industry such as Herbert Austin, William Morris (Lord Nuffield), Alec Issigonis, and the Wilks brothers; and a glimpse of the British motor industry in its heyday including the bustle of the production line, behind the scenes in the offices and off-duty social activities at iconic factories such as Longbridge, Cowley, Abingdon and Solihull.
There is no extra charge to see the Motorgraphs Exhibition as it is included in the standard Museum entry fees. Museum prices are: Adults £11, Child £8 (5-16 years) under 5 free, Concessions £9 & Family £34 (2 adults & up to 3 children).
