New homes in Colchester are tailor-made for families

David and Paula Bobby didn’t take long to find the perfect place for their family at Taylor Wimpey’s The Boulevard II, Tamarinds, development of property for sale in Colchester, Essex.

Content with life in the pretty village of West Bergholt, the Bobby family had no intention of moving away from their old Essex property.

But within three months of a speculative visit to The Boulevard II, Tamarinds, at New Braiswick Park, David, Paula and their children Josh (11) and Jess (14) had upped sticks in favour of a new life at Taylor Wimpey’s sought-after development of new homes for sale in Colchester.

“We loved where we were in West Bergholt,” says David (41), reflecting on the path that led them to their new property in Colchester. “We had a lovely three-bedroom detached house, and although we needed more space, we weren’t looking to move. We had the option of converting the loft into a fourth bedroom, so imagined we’d maybe do that in time.

“But, after spotting The Boulevard II development of houses for sale in Colchester on the Taylor Wimpey website, Paula said we should go and have a look – for a bit of fun more than anything else.

“We visited the development over the 2011 May Bank Holiday, fell in love with the showhome and we haven’t looked back since!”

Having a property to sell wasn’t a problem for the Bobbys, as they took advantage of the leading housebuilder’s easymover incentive to smooth their move to their new home at the Taylor Wimpey Colchester development.

David says: “We popped our house on the market on a Friday, had five viewings that weekend and had two offers on the table by the Sunday!

“The whole selling process was incredibly smooth, and we can’t praise Denise and Dennis, the Sales Executives at The Boulevard II, highly enough for their help and guidance throughout the process.”

The Bobbys were soon settling into a brand new four-bedroom, detached ‘Sandringham’ house, which offers the perfect solution for the growing family of talented musicians.

Paula is a music teacher, David works as head of business development in performing and creative arts for examination board Trinity College London, while Josh and Jess are both keen musicians.

David says: “There’s a second reception room on the ground floor which has become our dedicated music room, while I use the fourth bedroom as my office.

“The kids are left to run wild on the top floor, where their bedrooms are, and they have plenty of room for their instruments – including Josh’s two drum kits. In fact, the sound-proofing is so good in our house that you can barely hear him playing the drums upstairs!”

While the Bobbys have been impressed with their home, the convenient location of The Boulevard II has also gone down well with them.
“After the thrill of finding such a great house, the location was almost irrelevant, but we can’t find fault with that either,” says David.

“We’re just over a mile from the town centre, and only a 15-minute walk from the railway station. There’s a wonderful woodland area nearby, which is great for walks, while the overall plans for the development look very good – it’s been very well designed. In time, The Boulevard II will be a nice, quiet place to live with plenty of greenery.”
