The UK’s smallest and ‘most affordable’ hybrid car will be one of the attractions at Company Car in Action, together with a range of the latest low-CO2 products being offered to fleets.

Registration is open for the two-day event at Millbrook Proving Ground, on June 26-27, where attendees will be able to sample vehicles on a variety of circuits to allow them to discover how vehicles perform in a range of environments.

The Toyota Yaris Hybrid will offer industry leading low CO2 emissions of 79g/km – the lowest of any car that doesn’t need to be plugged in, and also promises to be the most affordable hybrid car on sale in the UK, at less than £15,000 on the road.

The 99bhp Yaris Hybrid also achieves 80.7mpg on the combined cycle – equal fuel consumption to that achieved  by the 74bhp Kia Rio 1.1 CRDi – although the lower pump price of petrol should mean reduced fuel costs compared with the Kia.

Company Car in Action, organised by leading business publication Fleet News, will be the first opportunity for fleets to drive Toyota’s full range of hybrids, including the latest version of the Prius, the Prius Plug-in, the seven-seat Prius+ and the Auris hybrid as well as the new Lexus GS450h high-performance executive saloon.

The event allows fleet decision makers to put the latest models through their paces on test circuits specifically designed for the role and that are normally closed to the public, compare a wide range of models back-to-back and discuss their views with experts from each manufacturer back at their stand.

It also enables attendees to gather a wealth of product knowledge through test drives so and make meaningful comparisons and choice list decisions.

Vauxhall, the biggest manufacturer in the UK fleet market in 2011 will have a full range of cars and vans available to test on a variety of circuits at Millbrook.

Linda Unsworth, fleet communications manager at Vauxhall, said: “Vauxhall is once again delighted to be attending Company Car in Action at Millbrook. We are committed to offering customers a full car and van range of efficient and economical vehicles.

“Featuring on the Vauxhall central stand this year, will be the revolutionary Ampera, the first extended range electronic vehicle to be available in the UK, along with driving debuts for the rakish Astra GTC coupe and the Zafira Tourer MPV. New Combo will also be available to drive for the very first time.

“This is an addition to the full range of Ecoflex car and van models - the best-selling and widest choice of ‘eco’ badged vehicles available from any manufacturer - being available for you to drive.”

Honda will have a range of low-CO2 hybrids, including the latest version of the Insight, as well as the Jazz and CR-Z, plus several examples of the latest Civic, with its class-leading low CO2 emissions.

SEAT will also be bringing the revised version of the Ibiza in hatchback and ST variants, as well as the new Mii, and other models from its range.
