LV= named as one of Britain's top 100 employers
14 April 2008
LV= has been named one of Britain's top 100 employers by the Corporate Research Foundation (CRF). The awards identify UK companies that excel in HR management.
The judges particularly commended LV= for truly living the values of a friendly society, despite many changes in its business over the years, and having a very clear strategy to always act in the interests of its members.
The judging panel scored each company out of 100 on areas including knowledge management, pay and benefits, training, employee relations, corporate social responsibility and diversity.
LV= secured its place in the top 100 with an average score of 71% across all key areas and was awarded a full 100% for knowledge management and 75% for corporate social responsibility.
CRF described companies that had been awarded Britain's Top Employers 2008 as having "leading-edge approaches to communicating with employees, improving productivity and mobilising people for competitive advantage."
David Smith, HR Director at LV=, comments: "We are delighted to win this award. We value our staff very highly and try to do things differently from businesses that are constantly under pressure from shareholders. We operate flexible working schemes, a bonus scheme, meaningful benefits and a wide range of training courses so that people are able to thrive and progress their career within the company."
