Santander cash ISA with bonus linked to golf ‘Majors'
Santander will today tee off the ISA season by launching a fantastic new range of cash ISAs to help savers make the most of tax free savings, including the innovative new Major ISA linked to the US Open Champion, Rory McIlroy.
The 2 Year Fixed Rate MAJOR ISA pays 4.00 per cent AER tax free (fixed), so customers are guaranteed a great return. What's more, if Rory McIIroy wins one of the eligible golf ‘Majors' before the ISA matures, customers will earn an additional one-off bonus, at maturity, of 0.10 per cent tax free.
Matt Hall, Head of Savings said: "Our 2 Year Fixed Rate MAJOR ISA is another first in the savings market! Savers can consolidate all their ISA money in one account earning a great return of 4.00 per cent and, as icing on the cake, receive an additional one-off bonus of 0.10 per cent if Rory wins a ‘Major' golf championship."
As well as Major ISA, Santander has introduced a new, simplified range of ISAs available to all new and existing customers. All the ISAs allow customers to deposit their annual cash ISA allowance and transfer in any existing cash ISA money held with Santander or other ISA providers.
For savers looking for a shorter term, a 1 Year Fixed Rate ISA is also available, offering a competitive 3.50 per cent AER tax free (fixed).
For savers who prefer to have instant access, Santander's new Direct ISA Issue 9 offers a market-leading rate of 3.30 per cent AER tax free (variable) and allows access via cash card, telephone and internet banking. This rate includes a variable bonus of 2.80% for the first 12 months.
Matt Hall continues: "With our new range of ISAs, we're keeping things simple for our customers. They can keep all their ISA savings in one account and earn a great return, whether they want to fix or be able to access their money. And because all our ISAs can be topped up in the new tax year, customers can transfer in now and make the most of their ISA allowance over both tax years."
The 2 Year Fixed Rate Major ISA is the latest in a series of great initiatives designed to reward customers, including the Upfront Interest Bond, 123 Cashback Credit Card and Santander's new, unique ‘123 Current Account' (available from 5 March 2012) which pays cashback on all utilities, council tax and communications direct debits set up on a customer's account, as well as paying in-credit interest on balances up to £20,000.
