If you’re desperate to own your own home but are struggling to save for a large deposit, then fear not as Taylor Wimpey North West is continuing to offer shared equity at the Millers Brow development in Blackley.

First time buyer Andrew Thompson is one such purchaser who has taken advantage of a shared equity scheme with Taylor Wimpey. He is now settling into his three bedroom Hemsworth house at Millers Brow, which is also just a short work to work, demonstrating the development’s excellent location.

He comments: “Without shared equity I wouldn’t have had the ability to buy such a spacious property as my first home. I had looked at older properties but all I could afford with the deposit I’d raised was a smaller two bedroom house. When I heard that I was eligible for shared equity, which meant I could buy a three bedroom three storey house with Taylor Wimpey, I was over the moon.”

Andrew continues: “I work at North Manchester General Hospital and Millers Brow is literally just a ten minute walk away, I couldn’t ask for a better location.

“Plus, the assistance I received from the sales advisers at Millers Brow was second to none. They talked me through the home buying process and the EasyStart scheme, which made the whole experience so much simpler and stress free.”

Taylor Wimpey is currently offering the Government-led FirstBuy scheme at Millers Brow. FirstBuy is designed to help first time buyers, who earn a combined income of less than £60,000 per year, overcome the home buying hurdles. It works through a joint loan of 20 per cent from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Taylor Wimpey, which means that eligible purchasers only need to raise a five per cent deposit and obtain a 75 per cent loan-to-value mortgage.

Sam Williams, associate sales director for Taylor Wimpey North West, said: “We speak to numerous first time buyers who are finding it incredibly difficult when it comes to getting onto the property ladder, so it’s terrific news that we’re able to support so many buyers like Andrew. It highlights just how attractive and affordable our new homes at Millers Brow are.”

Millers Brow hosts a beautiful selection of two bedroom apartments as well as a collection of three and four bedroom family homes. Prices start from £85,950 for a two bedroom apartment (or from as little as £68,760 through FirstBuy). Meanwhile the three bedroom properties start from just £118,950 (or from as little as £95,160 through FirstBuy).

Millers Brow benefits from a fantastic location being less than three miles from Manchester city centre and close to North Manchester Business Park and the M60, perfect for commuters. Those who love the outdoors can enjoy nearby attractions including Blackley Forest, Nutbank Common and Greater Manchester’s largest park Heaton Park.
