Motorpoint increases online presence with new interactive website
Motorpoint, the multi-brand car supermarket with one of the biggest choice of cars and vans in the UK, has radically overhauled its website (motorpoint.co.uk), which receives more than 25,000 visitors every day, making it the UK’s most visited automotive dealer website, according to the online competitive intelligence provider, Hitwise.In the last 3 years, Motorpoint’s customer surveys have shown a rise in the number of customers who visit Motorpoint.co.uk, prior to making a purchase, from 40% to over 97%. The new website will provide a complete solution for when buying a car online, making the customer experience more user friendly, and providing greater functionality to the growing number of people that are now turning to a car supermarket to purchase new and used vehicles. Motorpoint currently has 5 sites across the UK in Derby, Burnley, Glasgow, Newport (South Wales), including the new 5-acre site recently acquired in Peterborough.
In addition to being able to browse through over 3,000 new and used cars and vans, with savings of up to 55% off original retail prices, customers now have the added facility of being able to purchase vehicles online at their own convenience, 24 hours a day, and 365 days a year. Visitors can create their own personal profile and buying area called “My Motorpoint,” which allows users to save vehicles which they may be interested in, and which can then be compared against one another prior to making a purchase. Details of vehicles which may be of interest to others can also be e-mailed directly from the site.
Available stock which is updated hourly, can be viewed by make, model and full specification. Results can then be sorted further by price, colour, mileage, and model year, making it easier for customers to navigate to the car or van which best suits their requirements. Dimensions and actual photos of the vehicle’s interior and exterior are available for most models, therefore providing greater clarity with regards to exact specification. Optional equipment including satellite navigation, alarm and entertainment systems are also listed, and may be purchased in conjunction with the chosen car or van.
Financing a vehicle can sometimes be a minefield, but Motorpoint has dedicated an exclusive area of the website to providing a simple guide on the advantages of purchasing using the competitive finance package, which includes low monthly payments, roadside assistance and warranty.
Also introduced on the new site is an interactive poll, which gives visitors the unique chance to express their opinion on issues which affect motorists on the road every day. On voting, users may see what concerns people the most, in addition to the current results of the poll, whose subject will be revised on a regular basis.
