Gone in a flash with Voyage Privé

29th March 2012 Print

The popularity of flash sale websites with limited time offerings have grown dramatically over the last year with the UK’s leading luxury travel club; Voyage Privé witnessing an increase in sales of more than 140% year on year.

This significant increase in sales is clearly highlighting the growing appetite for flash sales in the UK and a shift in consumer buying habits.

The online travel agent reports a high demand for its 4* holidays, which represent more than 60% of all holidays sold.

Domestic holidays are proving particularly popular this year, claiming a third of all bookings, suggesting that the London Olympics could indeed have a positive impact on staycations this year.

Although domestic holidays retain the highest market share, neighbouring European countries are also proving popular with holidays in Spain taking 16.8% of all bookings this year.

This marked increase in sales suggests that holidaymakers are opting for high-end, luxury holidays closer to home this year rather than budget holidays on exotic shores.

John Bevan, Managing Director at Voyage Privé said, “Our growth over the last 12 months has been tremendous. Our handpicked flash sales enables us to offer our members’ not only new inspirational holiday ideas but also the best possible prices."
